Disneyland Trip: California Adventure!

Saturday was Mom's birthday. We kept saying all day that there wasn't a better way for her to celebrate than to be in Disneyland with her grand baby. We again made it to all of our favorite rides multiple times. We even road Radiator Springs Racers 4 times in 45 minutes. We had awesome food in California Adventure and then Morgan and I ran back to Radiator Springs Racers one last time to ride it when it was dark…and it was SO worth it. That ride is definitely one of my favorites and gets even better when it is dark outside. We finished the day by watching World of Color, which is awesome like always.

 Eva rode a Carousel for the first time in California adventure. She actually really liked it!

 We were on our way to the Ferris Wheel when I lost Morgan in the crowd. I turned back to find him like this:

 He was watching the mini water show they do all throughout the day through the fence. I just had to take a picture because he just is so darn cute!

The next day we packed our bags, drove to church and then made the long drive back to Provo. We were totally exhausted and loved every minute of our vacation!

Disneyland Trip: Actually in Disneyland!

We finally got into Disneyland on Friday! We rode all of our favorites within the first half of the day multiple times. We did Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Rocky Mountain Railroad and a few others. Morgan and I took baby back to the room at 3:00p to let her have a good nap, and can I just say, "best decision ever!" We went back to the parks at around 6:00p for dinner and more rides. We finished the evening watching the fireworks.

At dinner, the lady felt bad because my dish took so long to cook. To make up for it, she wrote my name on my burrito!

Disneyland Trip: Downtown Disney and Baseball

On Thursday we spent some time again at Downtown Disney. I've never really walked around all of it and since we had extra time I really wanted to. We saw some pretty cool stuff.

 

These characters you see behind us are made entirely out of Legos!

 The dragon was of course the craziest…completely out of Legos as well…if you can believe it.

 

 We also made a quick stop to walk around the Grand Californian Hotel. It was SO amazing! Nice and big and done totally in the Craftsman style. There was a lady playing Disney songs on the piano and cute little child rocking chairs in front of a TV playing cartoons. I loved it!

Grandma Lyons then bought Eva a little play toy, which she loves!

We then drove to Los Angeles to watch a Dodgers vs Cardinals baseball game. Eva was being a little fussy pants, which was quite exhausting. Much to my delight (because of fussy baby) it was the shortest baseball game I have ever been to. It was about 3 hours long. We then drove home and went to sleep early to prepare for Disneyland the next day!

Disneyland Trip: The Beach

The third day into our trip we decided to go to the beach. It was a perfect day. Nice and warm and the water was awesome. We lathered on the sunscreen, took turns napping with baby, and had a short lived bonfire. The boys played catch and built sand…i guess…sand fortresses... and we had SO much fun body surfing in the waves. It was absolutely great. In the evening, we cleaned up and walked down to ColdStone and then into the middle of the parks to watch the fireworks, yet again.

Disneyland Trip: Tuacahn and Driving

For the first leg of our trip we drove to St. George and stayed with Morgan's uncle and went to Tuacahn's production of the Little Mermaid. They did such a good job. I loved a few a couple of the additional songs that are part of the musical that aren't in the movie, but my favorite part was when one of the mermaid sisters did an impression of Miranda (if you don't know who that is check out this link https://www.youtube.com/user/mirandasings08).

 The next day we drove the rest of the way to Anaheim and checked into our hotel. We then went swimming and out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

 We even took a little evening walk to Downtown Disney and then watched the fireworks from our hotel parking lot.

Family Reunion and Travel

So, if there is one thing that can truly sum up our summer this far it is TRAVEL. We have travelled more than I ever want to again in the last 6 weeks. The beginnings of said travel started with a trip up to Tooele for a Heiner family reunion. We went to this awesome house that is basically in a neighborhood lake. There were kayaks, plenty of food, fun and games. We really enjoyed visiting with everyone. Steph's sweet 16 happened right before the reunion, so we had a grand opening of gifts. 

We then drove up to Idaho for Max's farewell….and then drove back to Provo on Monday so we could leave for California and Disneyland. And that's just the beginning…
