We had Morgan's mom in town this year for Halloween and we definitely partied.
We started off the festivities with our ward trunk-or-treat on Wednesday. We even participated in a costume parade. The trunk-or-treat was also Jack's first outing.
On Thursday, Morgan and I went on a date to a Chanticleer concert. It was amazing! For those who don't know, Chanticleer is an all male classical choir group, somewhat similar to the King Singers. They did a number of amazing pieces and we were totally blown away with how absolutely perfect their voices were. As an encore piece they sang Oh Shenandoah. As soon as they started the first line the whole audience just sighed...there really is no better place to perform that song as an encore. Needless to say there were few dry eyes after that.
On Friday, we went to UVa main grounds for trick-or-treating on the Lawn. It is a huge community and university event and there were TONS of people there. Eva definitely has trick-or-treating down. She was all business as she grabbed her candy.
We got a lot of compliments on our outfits, especially little guy. People just couldn't get over how cute of a Snoopy he made.
After trick-or-treating, we met up with our friends the McConkies, who were visiting DC for the weekend, and went to dinner. We cannot express enough how much of a treat it was to have friends and family in town all at once. With those two things, Charlottesville is literally the best place.
On Halloween, we took Morgan's mom up to Carter mountain for Apple Cider donuts and the view. It was pretty cold, but we decided we had to have their peach frozen yogurt anyway.
We had a chill evening in and invited our friends the Schoells over for soup and the classic, "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken". We carved pumpkins and made caramel apples and then played Buzz Word a million times and laughed and laughed. It was SUCH a fun evening.
This Halloween was definitely my favorite yet.
