Big News and Happenings in the last few months...

A lot has happened since I last blogged. Here is a little catch up.

I finally graduated from BYU on April 26th. It feels awesome being done!



I also managed to get a full time job before graduating so that is really nice. We certainly are grateful. I'm now working for a surgical center in Payson.

The drive is long, but I love the office I work for and I actually really enjoy being a secretary. I had a lady the other day say that I was very kind and helpful unlike other doctors office receptionists she has talked to. I really appreciated that because it's nice to know that I make a difference.


Right after graduation, my sweet sister-in-law Aleisha got married to her love James. We attended the wedding in the Salt Lake Temple and then celebrated with them afterwards.

They are an awesome couple! We secretly hope that James and Morgan will both end up going to school in Boston so Aleisha and I can be neighbors....well I guess so all of us can be neighbors, but that way while our men are studying we can have a friend to hang out with...good plan right? How awesome would THAT be?!! Anyway, their wedding day was really special and we are so happy for them. Aleisha let me do her hair and I think it actually turned out ok.




Next big news.....I'm pregnant!! Yep, it's true, I haven't just lost my self control and gained exorbitant amounts of weight....there is a reason behind my ballooning size. We found out the Tuesday before I graduated, actually. I am now 14 weeks today and still coping with morning sickness....yay.... :)

I also went out and bought my first maternity clothes yesterday. It has been SO hot this Provo summer and none of my shorts fit anymore except for gym shorts, so I cracked and got some really cute maternity ones. They are comfy and look great!

We are looking forward to being parents. I am excited to know if it is a boy or a girl! We find out in about four weeks!

Ruby Slippers

So, I have always loved ruby slippers. Red happens to be my favorite color and sparkles...well, they're practically every girls favorite. When I was little, I would watch the Wizard of Oz and every time those ruby shoes came on the screen I would pause the video and admire their beauty. Ever since those days, I have wanted ruby slippers. I have had a few pairs over the years. I even played Dorothy in a production and go a pair just for that, but each pair wore out and so I have been left ruby slipperless...

I happen to be graduating from college soon (I promise this relates), I decided that I needed a great pair of shoes to wear because after all, all you can see in the lovely gowns they make you wear are your shoes. Well....drum roll please....for the past few days I have been working on these beauties....

Update: The shoes worked great for graduation! However, due to some hurried steps when I first made them they didn't hold up too long and I had to chuck them at the end of the day, but they were great while they lasted!

Happy Birthday Love!

So, this one is way late, but my dear sweet husband had a birthday recently...ok...well it was in February. I wanted it to be a special occasion, so I decorated, made a delicious dinner and cake, and even bought him a Kindle Fire! I am such a good wife!

I insisted on putting all 23 candles on the cake, per tradition. :)  Love you sweetie!

SENIOR RECITAL!

So, I passed my recital hearing yesterday....so that means my Senior Recital is really happening!! So, everyone come! I am doing my program twice, once in Provo at BYU on Saturday, March 30th at 5:30pm and then once in Burley, ID on the 20th of April. Both are free and both will be awesome. The theme of my recital is Songs & Letters so every song I am singing is about letters or is a letter. It is really going to be awesome!

Valentines Day!

So, our Valentine's day was fantastic! My favorite part was probably people watching during dinner at P.F. Changs. We laughed and joked and speculated ourselves silly. Haha...and it made me SO grateful that I am married.

Morgan was a sweetie and left me 14 paper hearts in various places for me to find all day long, each with a cute little note on them. I loved it!

I decorated our table, like dad does (with some additions)...

...and made Morgan a Valentine.

We had heart shaped waffles for breakfast (although, I don't have any pictures of those...because they didn't last long. But I do have pictures of a couple of my Valentine's decorations.

It really was a great Valentines day, the best ever in fact. I am one lucky lady to have married such a great man!

2012 in Review

2012 was definitely a banner year. Here is a little of what we did.

January

Started winter semester and full time dating. Morgan and I skyped all last Christmas break and we were excited to see each other when the new year rolled around. I also celebrated my 22nd birthday.
(sorry no pictures).

Morgan and I discovered one of our favorite places to visit, the Shops at the Riverwoods. There is a particular fire there that we loved to sit around and night while eating Chocolate-caramel apples from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

Morgan also came to my concert in Salt Lake on the 30th or 31st of January (which is when he told me he wanted to marry me).

February

We got engaged!

March

We took engagements,

and continued to take classes and do a million things at once.

I also gave my Junior Recital in March.

April

We found a place to live, finished school, started working on the BYU Grounds Crew together (so fun!), and just got ready for the big day....sadly no pictures. We really must have been busy :(

May

I went through the temple for the first time for my endowment. I also caught a wonderful cold the week before my wedding....and the biggest even of the year....

WE GOT MARRIED!!

YAY!!

June

First month of married life. We also bought a car.

Working grounds also continued to be an adventure.

Morgan picked them while working grounds and brought them home for me.

July

We had an epic family reunion in Idaho with Morgan's family where Morgan proudly won Heiner of the Year (the reunion was set up like a competition where you could win points for every activity you participated in...I came in 4th).

We moved to a new apartment in July because our old one (pictured above) was regularly single housing and so we would have to move in the Fall anyway. We moved next door to our good friends the Laws.

and the Settler battles began...

August

We went out to eat with Morgan's sisters and mom.

We also tried to use our "Starving Student" cards as much as possible before they expired on September 1st. Here we are with our spoils.

Also, the new semester started...

September


We went to Disneyland with the family the first week of September!

It was delightful! While in Aneheim, we also went to an Angel's game.

The trip was fantastic and we came home exhausted and sunburned.
Morgan and I also participated in Chalk the Block at the Riverwoods. We had never done a sidewalk chalk competition, let alone even a sidewalk chalk drawing together. I felt like we were rather successful! Here is our drawing.

We drew How to Train your Dragon, because that is the movie we watched on our first date.  We found out through this experience that we compliment each other really well when doing art projects.

October

Fall in Provo was beautiful this year. We took a few drives up the canyons to see the leaves.

 We also carved pumpkins.

November

In November, we struggled through the hard part of the semester and happily made it to Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving with Morgan's family in Honeyville and Logan, Utah. We got to spend two days in the temple doing family names. So in a two day period, we did baptisms, endowments, and sealings. It was really neat to spend so much time with family in the temple. It was a really special experience and the Brigham City temple is BEAUTIFUL! (Especially the brides room, if you go to that temple someday, just see if a temple worker can show you it.)

 

December

Finals were hard, but we made it through the semester. Morgan got straight A's (smarty pants) and I got all A's and one B...YAY! My family came down the first week of December and we went to the BYU Choir's Celebration of Christmas which was fantastic. They came down two weekends later and we all went to the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert featuring Alfie Boe. Can I just say WOW! It was amazing.

It was a fantastic year! I am blessed beyond words with fantastic friends, family and an amazing husband!
