June fun, baby firsts and Max's farewell

Well, it has been a couple CRAZY months. We stayed busy in June packing up our little apartment in Provo and getting ready to move across the country. But before we totally turned our attention to our move across the country we went on a few trips including a graduation trip to Disneyland with most of Morgan's family. We definitely partied hard this month.

First off, Eva is growing SO fast. She turned 6 months on the last week in June. She figured out how to  finally roll from her back to her stomach and she started to sit up. She gets more and more personality every day. We sure love to hug and kiss on this little one.

Eva also went swimming for the first time, went to her first bonfire and 'helped' mommy at work.

Max left on his mission the last week in June. We went to the temple with him when he got his endowment and we went to his farewell. I have always thought of Maxit as the little baby boy, but seeing him ready to go on his two year mission and giving SUCH a great farewell talk I have to face the fact that the baby in the family is finally growing up. He will be such a great missionary!

5 months

Little miss was 5 months this last Tuesday. We sure do love our little wiggle. I could definitely spend my whole day just kissing those little cheeks of hers.

Obviously she was SO happy to be taking pictures. :)

Eva definitely has a soft spot for her daddy. She always knows when he enters the rooms and always gives him extra smiles and giggles. Here is a video of one of those moments.

Bedroom DIY

I have been wanting to redo our bedroom decor for a while now. We had old purple and grey bedding and lots of mismatched furniture in our bedroom. So, I decided it was time for an update. Here is what I wanted our bedroom to look like:

I wanted these colors with a pinched pleated duvet cover. Which looks something like this:

So, I got out my handy sewing machine and made my own duvet cover and then stripped and stained our bed frame. Here is the finished product.

I think it turned out pretty great. Of course there is still more that I am planning. I'm going to add some gold, chocolate and creme throw pillows and some ceiling to floor curtains in the corners of the room to give it some color. Now for a before and after…

So much more homey. I love it!

More Birth/Hospital Pictures

I finally got a hold of Morgan's phone and figured out how to send myself some of the pictures he snapped from the hospital. So enjoy!

I can't believe she used to be that little only 4 and 1/2 months ago!

Four months!

Wow, I am so bad at getting these up on time. On April 27th Eva turned 4 months. She is more 'talkative' now, especially when she is upset, she's not afraid to let us know what she thinks. She is starting to sleep 7 hours every night. She is getting adorable fat roles on her little legs. She drools and blows raspberries and tries to mimic people when they vibrate their lips. She is ticklish and has started laughing when tickles. She also laughs when you repeatedly kiss her chubby cheeks, blow on her tummy or fake laugh. We do so love our little one!

Also, this last Friday we went to a BYU baseball game and it was Eva's first! She seemed to enjoy people watching (as usual). In fact I'd say she probably enjoyed the baseball game as much as she enjoys the grocery store. ;)

Eva learned a new trick...

Our little girl has realized that with a little effort she can see things behind her. When on the floor she will scoot to one side and arch her back until she is looking that direction. She figures that because she can do it on the floor, it should work just fine in her swing…right? Well, this is the end product.

Silly girl. :)

Eva's First Easter

We dressed Eva in her Sunday best for Easter. We had two dresses that we love, so we dressed her up in both and took pictures.

She was obviously thrilled. We had our friends over for Sunday dinner. It was my first attempt at making a turkey and it actually turned out ok. We followed dinner up with a quick easter egg hunt, that ended up being much more competitive than intended. It was such a beautiful day. I am so grateful for Easter and for the life of Christ and his atonement and resurrection! That is the 'glad tidings of great joy' spoken of in the scriptures…that we will live again because he lived again! What a wonderful, and hopeful message! Also, if you haven't seen the "Because of Him" video, i strongly recommend watching it. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S3TI4bYerU
